Martial Arts Background:
Mr.Zhang grew up in extreme poverty. When he reached age 25 his poor health condition drove him to study martial arts to help him survive. He first studied 'San Wang Pao Chu' (3 kings cannon fist) with Master Zu Jung Wei. In 1956 he learned 'Pao Chu's San Sau' combat technique from Mr. Chu Ting Shu. Ever since then Mr.Zhang has competed in numerous Wushu competitions often winning in the top 3 for many years since 1957.
After the Cultural Revolution Mr.Zhang decided to learn how to read and write. His determination led him to become the most respected author in Wushu. He has published over 100 books and material for the people of China and gained to many awards from national publishers to list here.
